THE CLIENT BRIEF
A private client approached me with physical examples and a conceptual idea for a highly specialized tool designed for cutting gypsum board (drywall). The goal was to refine the concept, improve the ergonomics and mechanical feasibility, and produce the necessary documentation to have the tool professionally manufactured.
ITERATIVE 3D MODELING & RENDERING
Using the client's rough examples as a starting point, I reverse-engineered the core mechanics into a digital 3D environment.
- Digital Prototyping: Created highly accurate 3D CAD models focusing on structural integrity and ease of assembly.
- Visualization: Generated photorealistic renders of the tool in its final material finish to give the client a tangible look at the end product before committing to tooling costs.
- Design Review: Conducted a feedback loop with the client, tweaking dimensions, grip ergonomics, and cutting tolerances until the geometry was perfected.
TECHNICAL DRAFTING & MANUFACTURING HANDOFF
Once the 3D model was validated and approved by the client, the project transitioned from conceptual design to strict mechanical engineering. I produced a comprehensive set of detailed technical drawings (blueprints). These documents specified exact geometric tolerances, material callouts, surface finishes, and assembly schematics, ensuring the machine shop had unambiguous instructions for manufacturing the final product to exact specifications.
